How It Works

Start the process by filling out a Puppy Application. We can’t wait to hear from you. After we have received your application we will reach out to schedule a call. We will answer any of your questions and learn more about what you are looking for. You can reserve your puppy or get on the waitlist with a non refundable deposit.

Reservation Fees

If you are interested in a puppy do not hesitate to reserve your spot as spots are limited and puppy picks are on a first come, first serve basis.  We are always accepting new reservations on our list for future puppies! A $500 (non-refundable) deposit will secure your spot in line on our wait list. Your reservation fee will go towards the final purchase price when you select your new puppy.

Please fill out a PUPPY APPLICATION if you are interested in joining our waitlist.  This is the best place to start as it will answer a few key questions to help us best match you to your most ideal puppy.

Waiting List

It is never too early to get on our list if you are interested in a Gimipup Doodle! Please check out our UPCOMING LITTERS page for info on future litter plans.   Please fill out a PUPPY APPLICATION if you are interested in joining our waitlist.  This is the best place to start as it will answer a few key questions to help us best match you to your most ideal puppy.  Once you have submitted your application we will reach out to set up a phone call.  If all checks out and you are approved, it is at this time that you can place your reservation fee and reserve your spot in line.  We keep you updated with all pertinent information such as pregnancy confirmation, upon birth of your specific litter, as well as exciting milestones along the way as we raise your new puppy to become the calm, confident, intelligent and well rounded puppy of your dreams.  This is such an exciting and fun journey to follow and we love having our families here to watch these precious lives learn and grow, every step of the way.  We feel it is truly something so very special about the whole experience and we are honored to have you join us.

Puppy Pick Process

We have had the privilege to attend one of Jeanette Forrey (Author, Established and successful breeder, creator of the Empowered BAB Curriculum and friend)’s  in person Empowered BAB Retreats where we were certified on how to properly evaluate each of our precious pups.  Thanks to this knowledge and certification, we are able to look at stable and non stable traits in each pup and best match each puppy to the right family.  We in no way use this vital information to overstep and demand which puppy is right for you but instead use it as a tool to help educate and guide our families so they feel empowered and confident in their decision, as it is a very important one.

Puppy Picks are made in the order in which reservations are received.

Once you have been approved and placed you reservation fee, the waiting game or your pawfect pup begins. You will be updated every step of the way.  We do our absolute best to stay in continual communication with weekly photo or video updates as the puppies grow prior to choosing as well as up until they leave so that you can continue to watch your puppy learn and grow. When the puppies are around 7 weeks of age, we will reach out to set up a FaceTime call to officially pick your puppy.  For the safety of our young puppies, we do not allow in-person selections (we do allow visiting your chosen puppy after they have had their first set of vaccinations). Please keep in mind, if you aren’t particular on gender, size, etc. you will have more options to choose from and the opportunity to get your puppy sooner.  Puppy Picks are made in the order in which reservations are received.

SELECTION PROCESS

1.)  When litters are born we will first announce the new puppies on our social media pages.

2.) We will then send out email notifications to everyone on our waitlist within 24 hours of each litter being announced.

3.) All families that are interested will notify us that you would like to join the list for a puppy from that litter.  You will have 48 hours to send in your response to get in the queue for any litters you’re interested in. Of the families who sent in their request to be considered for a puppy from the newest litters, we will then compile those names in order of which reservations were placed and notify you which selection spot you will have for those pairings.

4.) Once you are on the litter list, we will send you emails to prepare for your puppy, and have access to the litter’s photos, characteristics, and temperament assessment tests to watch them grow and get to know them. We will also have updates on Instagram and Facebook.

5.) Pick day will happen right after temperament testing typically at 6-7 weeks. Each family will have a 30 minute appointment to meet the puppies and make your pick. At this time half of the remaining balance (minus your $500 reservation fee) will be due to reserve your specific puppy.

6.) Go home day will be at 8 weeks. Your remaining total balance will be due upon pick-up in cash. There will also be a contract to sign (which includes a spay/neuter clause within 12 months and health guarantee), and a puppy pack of goodies to take home with you! If your puppy is flying, final payment is due at 7 weeks via Venmo or Zelle.

*Any back-up spot holders still have a high likelihood of getting a puppy and will be notified if anyone ahead backs out.  You must watch out for litter updates online and via email during the time you know you will be ready and respond to claim your spot in line for the litter you would like.

*We always recommend being open minded in order to get your puppy sooner. Please try not to get your heart set on one puppy only from a single litter- markings and colors can change so we recommend selecting from parent’s whose personalities, energy levels, and size align with your lifestyle.

*IMPORTANT REMINDER:

As the Breeder we reserve the right to first male and female pick of every litter. We may not always choose to keep these spots and will move up people on the list and fill the other spots as necessary.

If at ANY POINT, the breeder feels you are no longer a safe or “right fit” for our puppies, we reserve the right to stop the process and no longer sell to you. Our puppies’ safety and well-being is our highest priority

Visitations

Local visitors are welcome to visit their chosen puppy after they have had their first set of vaccines around 6-7 weeks old. If a puppy becomes available after the set pick out day, arrangements for visitations can be made (only for those on our waiting list), Before visiting, please avoid going to pet stores, animal shelters, dog parks, or any other high traffic areas where other animals frequent. We ask that you remove shoes and sanitize your hands before interacting with the puppies to avoid the spread of disease like the common, but lethal Canine Parvovirus. We do not operate a kennel, our dogs are our family and are raised in our home. Because of this we do not have business hours for people to stop by and play with our puppies nor do we allow visits from anyone who is not on our waiting list coming on scheduled visitation or pick-up days. For the safety of our dogs and young puppies as well as our family, we do not allow tours of our home.

Final Payments

For families on our waiting lists, half of your remaining balance (minus your reservation fee that you already put down to join our wait list) will be due when puppies reach 4 weeks of age.  Final payment on your chosen puppy is due when puppies reach 6 weeks of age or before your litter’s puppy pick date. If for any reason we haven’t received the final payment by this time, your chosen puppy and spot in line will be lost. Your puppy will be considered yours once your Deposit and Final Payment are received. Final payments will be made via online bank transfer (no PayPal or Venmo) or cash.

Refunds

Deposits are nonrefundable, please only place a deposit if you are certain you will be ready for a new puppy in the next 24 months (or less)! After each puppy has left our care, their new family has 3 days to take them in to see a vet for a physical examination. If the puppy were to be found in ill health with any life threatening disease/condition, the puppy can be returned for a full refund. Shipping fees, if any, would not be refunded.

Puppy Pickup

We will share each litter’s pick-up date when contacting families about their availability. Pick up dates are typically the weekend closest to/after a litter has reached 8 weeks of age. We will have a 2-3 day window for pick up which you must be available for in order to select from said litter. We highly encourage everyone to drive or fly in to come pick up your new family member. We will set aside one date/time within this window to meet at the Baton Rouge BTR airport for those flying in. We can also meet at the New Orleans MSY airport for an additional, nominal fee.  If you wish to have your puppy delivered- we will have 2-3 flight nanny spots available per litter.

Before applying, please be open to picking up your puppy yourself if you are out of state as delivery cannot be guaranteed for everyone. We will have airline travel packs available to purchase with all of the necessities and will provide tips to help everything go smoothly.

Delivery

HAND-DELIVERY: We can hand-deliver your puppy to an airport near you! Your puppy will fly as carry-on with one of our “flight nannies” in the comfort and protection of the airplane cabin. Hand-delivery to the continental US starts at $600-800+ (depending on location). This will include your puppy’s flight and everything they need to make the journey home.

You are welcome to fly in and take your puppy home as a carry-on. We can meet you at the Baton Rouge (BTR) airport for those flying in. We can also meet at the New Orleans (MSY) airport for an additional, nominal fee.

Health Guarantee

Each Gimipup puppy will come with a 2-Year Health Guarantee! We guarantee your puppy to be free from any life threatening or genetic disease or we will replace your puppy free of charge.

Dewclaws & Tail Docking

After years of research, debating, and talking to other Doodle breeders about this topic, we have decided to keep our puppies’ dew claws intact.

The dewclaw is like a dog’s thumb and is used to help a dog maneuver while running, enables them to climb and grip objects such as bones, and is connected to other tendons in the wrist. They are not dead appendages. Removing the claw is not only extremely painful, but damages those tendons which can lead to arthritis. In our medium to large breed dogs especially, we want to minimize the risk of arthritis as much as we can.

There are two types of dew claws- attached dewclaws and detached dewclaws. Attached dewclaws have a bone connecting the claw to their wrist, when attached dew claws are removed, it is similar to removing a finger on a human. Detached dewclaws do not have a bone connecting to their wrist, are floppy, and otherwise useless. Detached dewclaws that we feel will be a nuisance as a dog matures will be removed.

Removing dew claws, tail docking, and ear cropping is outlawed in Europe and many other countries. The United States is one of the few that still allows these procedures to be done purely for cosmetic reasons.

Returns

Occasionally, circumstances change or a puppy does not work out in his or her new home for various reasons. In these or other similar situations we are more than happy to take the puppy or adult dog back until a new home can be found. We do not offer refunds past the 3 day mark after the puppy has gone to their new home and exchanges can only be made within our 2-year guarantee window if your puppy was found to have a genetic defect.

Breeding Rights

Each puppy will be sold on a strict spay/neuter contract. Breeding rights are available to pre-approved breeders at an additional cost. Please contact us about pricing and share details about your program with us if interested in breeding rights before joining the list.
